Treibball Race in Pesopark X, 25. 5. 2024
On May 25, under the auspices of the Treibball club and with the help of Jiří Čedík and the Ťapka dog
school, we organized the tenth jubilee treibball race in Pesopark. Of the 50 registered participants,
39 finally came, many teams cancelled their participation due to health reasons. 10 participants came
from abroad (Hungary and Germany)
All our documents were trilingual (Czech, English, German) as traditionally and thanks to the excellent
language skills of Jiří Čedík and Vivien Davidová, the on-site announcements were also trilingual. Thanks
to generous sponsors, we could afford to order nice trophies, banners, diplomas and name tags. Competitors
could also purchase t-shirts and sweatshirts with the race logo, which many of them welcomed and used.
The winners received valuable prizes from the sponsors, and thanks to welcome bags with a small gift,
even those who did not reach the podium, did not leave empty-handed.
The composition of breeds was very varied: English Cocker Spaniel, American Hairless Terrier, Bauceron,
Border Collie, Corgi, Entlebuch Cattle Dog, Irish Setter, Italian Greyhound, Jack Russel Terrier,
Dachshund, Miniature Schnauzer, Medium Schnauzer, Labrador, Mudi, Medium German Spitz, Portuguese Water
Dog, Miniature Poodle, Sheltie, Shiba and many crossbreeds.
Aisha has had more difficult conditions than usually at these races. Just before the race she started
her heat, so she had to be in the car outside the area and didn't get in until the afternoon after all
the other dogs had finished their runs. She then had to run both runs soon after each other with a small
break, which we were a little worried about considering her age of 11 and the heat. Considering that
despite her age and long racing career, Aisha started for the first time in heat, we wondered if she
would be interested more in balls or in the presence of so many male dogs. Fortunately, the balls won.
The task called Runway in the SMART run was challenging, because the dog had to "land" on the target
many times before the usual work with the balls. Aisha also made some mistakes here, but significantly
less than her competitors. She ran the pyramid in the FAST run perfectly and deservedly won the race
in the highest class TRB 3 M+L.
Not only Aisha, but also other teams that train with us at Pesopark made us very happy at the jubilee
Treibball race in Pesopark X. In the strong international competition, our training group won two first,
two second and four third places. Congratulations to all. Our other teams also fought bravely, but s
omewhere the necessary drop of luck, experience or time for preparation was missing, but that's how it
goes at races. Thank you all very much for participating in the races and for helping in their preparation.
Our photographer fell ill just before the race and we were unable to find a replacement, so we only
have our own photo documentation. The atmosphere of the final ceremony and all the winners are captured
by a summary video and photo documentation from the final ceremony, as well as in the total
results table .
The race was successful, and the participants seemed to enjoy it. We would like to thank the participants
for coming to Prague, often from a long distance, for preparing carefully for the race and for
their disciplined behaviour contributing to the relaxed course and pleasant atmosphere of the race.
A big thank goes to all the sponsors, our co-organizers Jiří Čedík and the Hejč family. Jiří Čedík and
Pavla Hejčová Langová were also judges, and Pavel Hejč provided us with professional sound throughout
the course of the competition. We thank Jiří and Míla Dušek for their help in preparing the field before
the race. The team of all helpers led by Petra Jirošová made a significant contribution to the smooth
running of the races without downtime and waiting and they owe a big thank you. We would like to thank
Jaroslava Chlumská for the opportunity to organize our races in the beautiful surroundings of Pesopark.
