The Second Gathering of the Entlebuchs, Zlenice, 6.- 8.9. 2013
The second Czech meeting of the Entlebuch cattle dogs took place in the Zlenice area. The nice area, allowing free movement of dogs, and beautiful weather provided a great framework
for the event. The organizers prepared a program very carefully – it was a well balanced mix of enlightening and fun. At the very end of the event a meeting of breeders and those who
are interested in breeding of Entlebuchs was organized by the breeding advisor. There was a big amount of photos by different authors available, so it was a lot to choose from.

The program was opened by presentations of different activities for dogs. After the presentations, participants had the opportunity to try the presented activities with their own
dogs. The presentations included treibball, canistherapy and the entire block closed demonstrations of defense training - from the very beginning with a small puppy to the top level.
We started to compete in groups, followed by individual competitions. During agility based competitions, it was immediately obvious who really trains agility and who tries tunnels and
obstacles just once a year at the Entlebuchs meeting. The first group pleased the audience by examples of what a well-trained Entlebuch is able to achieve in agility, the second
group brought relief and fun to the competitions. Also the masters had to demonstrate their knowledge – they had to find and answer many questions hidden in Zlenice area
on both sides of the Sázava river.
A moment of glory was a special discipline of the free competition, where owners with their dogs had one minute to show off a fun number using a few tools. The audience had to evaluate
the participants and select the winner. Some creations were truly remarkable.
Shared walk of all meeting participants led through the woods, cornfields and water to the ruins of the castle, where we were looking for a treasure. Some dogs have taken their dog
scarfs and most of them enjoyed to move off in a big group of other dogs and people. The walk was attended also by children, including babies. They had to be carried by their parents.
The organizers of the event not only prepared it perfectly, but they also carefully watched its progress, for which they deserve great thanks. The event was attended not only by
Entlebuchs, but also by other dog breeds as well as other animals. The meeting attracted Entlebuch little puppies, grown-up puppies, and adult dogs. They were accompanied not only by
adult handlers, but also by children, including the small babies. Those attending the meeting were staying in cabins, tents and in cars. After a day's program we appreciated the grilled
meat and spending the evenings together - either by the fire or inside in the restaurant. The second meeting of the Entlebuchs was really successful and all participants look
forward to the third meeting in the coming year.
